Donald Burton (PT ’71)

Donald Burton, 80, of Scott Twp., died Sunday at home after a brief illness.

Donald was born in Camden, N.J., on July 7, 1936, and was a son of the late Fannie Elizabeth Thompson. He was a proud graduate of Morgan State University and the Mayo Clinic School of Physical Therapy. He enjoyed golfing, playing pool, and visiting the Atlantic City casinos. Don was an avid gardener who took great pride in his yard and loved nothing more than driving his tractor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary (Jones), and children, R. Eric and wife Joan of Mountain Top, Jeffrey K. and wife Valerie of Mayfield; Michelle E. Ruthkosky of Olyphant; Tracy D. Heller of Justus; and Kimberly F.B. Bucklaw and husband Matthew of Downingtown. He also is survived by his beloved grandchildren, Leeann Kline, Jeffrey and Abigail Burton, Brandon Leistman, Elizabeth Heller, and Aiden Bucklaw; two great-grandchildren, Sorin and Rowan Kline, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Burton.
