Nominate prospective Board members
The Nominating Committee of the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS) Alumni Association accepts nominations throughout the year.
Each member of the MCSHS Alumni Association Board of Directors serves a three-year term and commits to attending an annual meeting (travel expenses provided). The Board seeks to fill six member seats whose terms are expiring, as well as one executive committee member seat.
Any Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS) alumnus may nominate a candidate — including themselves — to serve on the Executive Committee, as a director, or as vice president. Members are selected by the Nominating Committee and approved at the MCSHS Alumni Association annual meeting held in the spring.
Criteria
The Nominating Committee aims to find Board members who:
- Have graduated from a MCSHS program
- Represent a wide range of health sciences professions
- Are geographically diverse
- Hold, or have held leadership roles in their health sciences profession
- Are committed to representing alumni interests
- Have an interest in promoting MCSHS and the MCSHS Alumni Association
Nomination process
To nominate a MCSHS alum (including yourself) for a Board position, complete this nomination form and attach the required letter below.
If self-nominating, please complete the nomination form and attach a letter that addresses the following:
- Why the nominee is interested in serving on the Board
- Special skills and professional experience that the nominee is willing to contribute
- Issues or opportunities the nominee believes are important to MCSHSAA
- Any ideas or suggestions for the Board’s consideration
If nominating another individual, please complete the nomination form and attach a letter that addresses the following:
- Why the nominator believes the nominee would be an effective Board member
- Examples of leadership, service, or involvement relevant to Board service
- A clear statement recommending the nominee for Board service
