Jan Buss, program director, Clinical Neurophysiology Technology Program, dies
Our longtime friend and Clinical Neurophysiology Technology Program Director Jan Buss passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 8, 2021. Those who knew Jan will remember her for her dedication to her students and Mayo Clinic. After working in the Mayo Clinic Department of Neurology for 20 years, Jan became the program director and she served for the past 25 years. She took pride in teaching and mentoring, and provided steady and capable leadership for the program. Her kind and curious spirit will be greatly missed by those of us in education and by the many, many program graduates whose careers she helped launch. Jan’s obituary appeared in the Post Bulletin for those who would like to read more.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, Oct. 9, 2-5 p.m., at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, Minnesota. A floral arrangement has been sent to the family on behalf of the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. The Department of Neurology has set up webpage for colleagues to share condolences and fond memories of working with Jan using this link; and will use these submissions to create a gift of remembrance for her family in hopes of capturing a glimpse of the lives she touched at Mayo.
