Pamela Lovett, D.N.P., receives Mayo’s Mae Berry Service Excellence Award
Pamela Lovett, D.N.P., Department of Anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic in Florida, received a Mae Berry Service Excellence Award. Dr. Lovett is vice president of the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Alumni Association.
Each year, two non-physician employees from Mayo Clinic Health System in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin, and two non-physician employees each from the Arizona, Florida and Rochester campuses are chosen to receive the Mae Berry Service Excellence Award.
Recipients are recognized for:
- Serving as a role model to co-workers and inspire others to replicate service behaviors
- Acting selflessly to meet the needs of the patient and/or co-workers with no thought of reward
- Going above and beyond daily to provide timely, reliable attention to the needs of the patients, co-workers and clients
Dr. Lovett was nominated for being a gifted anesthetist with a passion for teaching and mentoring. She earned a doctorate of nursing practice degree in 2014 and has promoted professional nursing practice at Mayo Clinic ever since.
“Because of her experiences as a student, Dr. Lovett recognized the importance of the role of mentors to support and encourage others who enroll in a doctorate program,” says Belinda Shauver, Department of Anesthesiology, who nominated Dr. Lovett. “She and a colleague created the D.N.P. Academic Support Program through the Mayo School of Health Sciences, which now is integral to the student experience.”
Gianrico Farrugia, M.D., vice president, Mayo Clinic, says, “Dr. Lovett’s commitment to service excellence and dedication to Mayo’s mission is an inspiration not only to her colleagues but to many throughout Mayo Clinic.”
